Situation

The client reached out to MAC Street Industrial after their maintenance informed them that their roof was aged and likely needing replacement. Upon inspection, the roof system was not only old and deteriorated, but had extensive latent hail damage.

While the client was prepared to pay for the roof replacement out of pocket, we were able to provide a new roof system through insurance proceeds.

Outcome

Utilizing our extensive knowledge of storm damage, MAC Street Industrial completed detailed inspections & numerous studies, and determined that the roof had latent hail damage.

The damage incurred supported the necessary scope of work, and enabled us to replace and upgrade the client's roofing system- all through insurance proceeds.

After reviewing the insurance policy, we determined that our client could obtain a full roof replacement through insurance proceeds, and guided them through the next steps.

Our team compiled storm reports and verified hail damage to support the full scope of loss. We worked with the insurance adjuster and the building consultants to get the claim approved, while also arriving at a fair and complete claim settlement that covered all of the damage, including code upgrades. With these proceeds, we were enabled to provide the client with a higher quality system, and also improved the building's longevity through code upgrades.

MAC Street Industrial completed the roof tear-off and replacement, while minimizing disruption to the building occupants. We installed higher grade shingles while meeting code requirements; thus improving the buildings wind-resistance and hail impact durability. The new roof system also improved the appearance of the building, which the tenants will be able to enjoy for years to come.

Through our assistance and expertise, the client obtained an aesthetically and functionally improved asphalt shingle roof system- without paying anything out of pocket besides the claim deductible.

THE CHALLENGE

The client's office building had an old shingle roof system that was at the end of its life. While no roof leaks had yet occurred, prevention of such a scenario was paramount to ensure that the attorney's business was not disrupted. The client was fully prepared to shell out the funds needed for a full roof replacement, and contacted MAC Street Industrial with the intention of obtaining an estimate.

When MAC Street Industrial performed a comprehensive inspection of the roof system, we discovered latent hail damage along with extensive blistering and cracking in the shingles. The roof also had moss and algae growth in areas, along with loose shingles. It was not a matter of if, but when the tenants would experience leaking.
