Fluid Applied roof systems are an effective solution over most commercial or industrial roofing products based on the condition of the current system. Depending on the age and condition of the current roof, various levels of preparation work will be necessary. Factors such as rust, loose granules, and other conditions will need to be addressed prior to installing a fluid-applied roof system. If the building rooftop holds excessive moisture, this will often prevent the system from being effective long-term. Generally, the only roof type that a fluid-applied system is incompatible with is a ballasted roof.

While both acrylic and silicone based products are installed in a similar fashion, there are major differences in the quality of these systems. For nearly all scenarios, a silicone system is by far the best option. While acrylic products get brittle over time, silicone systems remain flexible, and thus are able to receive much longer NDL warranties.
